Elise Riley is the average girl that has never been treated like she was worthy, always second best even by her own mother.
She becomes a victim of a crime committed by one of her closest friends and is shipped off to Humble, Texas to live with her aunt and uncle on the family farm.
She swears that she will never trust another guy that is until she meets Ford.
Ford Kelly is the star running back at Humble High, always treated like he was number one.
Ford lives a life of eat, sleep, and football. He hates it and is starting to struggle from the effects of playing hard his entire life.
The one girl Ford likes seems to reject him at every turn. But when he starts to break down her walls, there are more things standing in their way than he suspected.
Is love worth the risk? Even if it means breaking a promise you made to your best friend? And if it is worth the risk, will you let it happen? Can you get past all the bad things that have happened in your life?

This is a new author for me and I was excited to read this book. The story starts out a little jumbled, but after a few pages, you get what's going on. Elise is a high school junior with an awesome big brother and horrid mother. Elise suffers a horrible tragedy, and when she tells her mom about it, her mom thinks she's lying. She sends Elise to her aunt and uncle's home, happy to be rid of her.
I'm surprised that the kids from Humble welcomed Elise as easily as they did. Shay grated my nerves, but ultimately meant well. Ford was the all-around high school football player with a heart of gold. Just as you think Elise is finally getting the life she deserves, yet another curveball is thrown at her.
The story was a bit long, but was very sweet. I loved Elise's aunt and uncle. I liked how Ford was respectful of Elise's boundaries and limitations. I actually wanted to see more of Elise and Ford's relationship as they became adults.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I'm reviewing this book for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.

Finding Me edition by Brooklyn Taylor Jenny Sims Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Not really sure what to say. This book was very well written. It made me have emotions all over the place . I cried a few times. Such a great story
For the first few chapters I just thought it was slow but the more I read the more I realized that she didn't know where she was going with the story. There was a lot of redundancy and way too many mistakes or misused words. The structure and grammar did not sound educated and the whole story line was just blah. The highs weren't very exciting and the lows weren't very sad. Overall it's probably not worth your time.
What? This was so boring! It took for ever to finish this book then it was crap! I feel bad for this girl her life sucked she had a hateful mother then she was raped then shipped off because her mom hated her but that's not all she then plays the blame game then she starts getting a little happy then BAM her brother gets sick then she fines him dead! I wish I didn't spend money on this super sad slow awful book!
I must say I absolutely loved ford and thad. The love they pour out to Elise through all of her tragedy and pain is so amazing. Though this is a work of fiction it is so inspiring to want to carry with me the truths and wisdom within these pages. There are lots of true elise stories out there and I hope to be the thad or ford that one who restores hope trust love and peace. Thank you for this story. I highly recommend
This story is a beautiful story and sad in some parts! Elise trusted her bestfriend and he crossed the line than her mother shipped her off so she had trust issues but than she meets ford at her aunt and uncles house and instantly falls for him but will he help her get out of this funk to trust guys!! This author wrote this beautifully! Can't wait to read more about ford and Elise and more of her books!!
Ok, this book is a definetly a MUST-READ. I've read books like Paper Towns (which is SO good), The Hunger Games, Harry Potter and Divergent, all of which has been turned into movies, and this is literally just as good. If not, better.
The story is about a city girl Elise, who has always been personally victimized by her own mother who blames her for her father's death, being shipped off to a small town in Texas called Humble. FYI, it's a real town. I searched it up. Anyway, Elise's uncle and aunt take her in and treat her like their own daughter. In Humble, Elise meets the star running back Ford Kelly, and sparks fly.
That was a really raw paragraph to try to get you intrigued in the book, as there are many other things I haven't mentioned. I have to say, this book literally got me waking up at 300am JUST to see what was going to happen next. And by 430am, I way crying my eyes out because of something that happened in the book. I'm not one to cry over a book, and I didn't even cry when I read The Fault in Our Stars, but this was just so sad! I can't tell you what happened, as spoilers are one of the worst crimes ever committed.
Please, just get the freaking book. I loved it, and so will you.
Overall
Rating 5 stars
Content I would say more appropriate for an older audience.

Overall Plot Line Insecure girl finding her true self in a new place

Good Deal for Price? Duh!
Review from a 12 year old
This book was very emotional and touched the heart. I could feel all of the emotions Elise was going through. She didn't have a mother who cared about her. Thank goodness Elise had her brother Thad. He always tried to be there for Elise and make sure she knew she was loved.
After being violated by a guy she had thought she could trust, Elise was very hurt physically and mentally. The final straw was when her mom blamed Elise and didn't believe that she was a victim of a crime.
The best thing that happened to Elise was when her mom sent her to live with her aunt and uncle. Elise finally found out what it was like to feel loved and wanted. Elise made a lot of friends and also found a guy who she was able to trust and let her guard down with. It took a while but Ford was very patient and he loved Elise. She loved him too.
